Students of the program will be required to display competency in general, mandatory, and elective imaging procedures as suggested by the ARRT during their clinical rotations under the observation of qualified Radiologic Technologists.
Clinical Scheduling and Placement
During the program, students must be prepared to travel to multiple clinical facilities at their own expense. Clinical assignments will vary by semester and will consist of 8am-6pm shifts, two days per week. Due to the rural nature of the program, students can expect to drive up to 100 miles to get to a clinical site. The program will consider student living arrangements when determining assignments but will remain equitable to ensure all students receive a diverse clinical experience. If a student resides more than 100 miles from the Beeville campus, the student should be prepared to relocate to the Beeville area for the duration of the program.
The Clinical Coordinator and program faculty will work together to determine clinical rotations. Their goal will be to remain equitable and provide a dynamic clinical learning experience to include mobile, surgical, fluoroscopic, and trauma examinations to all students. Student living arrangements will be taken into consideration; the program will not require a student drive further than 100 miles from their residence during the program. No adjustments to clinic schedules will be made after the assignments have been distributed. Carpooling and back-up plans are encouraged.
