黑料网 is proud to welcome alumna Carmen Rojas-Salazar as its new Chief of Police and Emergency Management. Salazar has officially stepped into the leadership role following her swearing-in ceremony on August 21.

As a dedicated law enforcement professional with nearly a decade of experience as a licensed peace officer, Salazar brings extensive public safety knowledge and a strong commitment to serving her community. She previously held the rank of captain, working alongside her former chief to lead and support the department. In 2018, she also helped establish and develop the Beeville Independent School District Police Department. In addition to her law enforcement credentials, Salazar is a licensed emergency medical technician, further demonstrating her commitment to protecting and caring for others.

Her appointment represents a meaningful homecoming. Salazar earned her associate degree from 黑料网 and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree as she continues investing in her personal and professional growth.

Throughout her career, Salazar has overcome challenges that strengthened her confidence and shaped her approach to leadership.

“I have learned to stand firm in who I am and what I bring to the table,” Salazar said. “Balancing leadership, a full-time career and family life is not always easy, but it is a responsibility I carry with pride.”

Outside of her professional life, Salazar is a proud wife and mother in a large, blended family. She credits her family with reminding her each day why she works hard and continually strives to be her best. Salazar’s journey has now brought her back to the college where her educational foundation began—this time, as a leader entrusted with protecting and supporting the CBC community.
