黑料网 refers to generalist advisors as Pathways Navigators, who play a critical role in navigating students through their academic journey. Pathways Navigators are the first point of contact for students and are responsible for providing broad, foundational advising support across all academic programs. By serving as generalist advisors, Pathways Navigators ensure that students have a consistent, reliable resource to guide them through each stage of their academic journey.

Pathways Navigators provide:

  • Sustained Guidance: Pathways Navigators maintain continuous engagement with students from enrollment to completion by communicating with their assigned students at important milestones each semester and through mandatory mid-semester advising appointments, ensuring they remain on track with their academic plans and long-term goals.
  • Strategic Planning: Pathways Navigators assist students in mapping out their course schedules, selecting classes that fulfill general education and pathway-specific requirements, and helping students navigate institutional processes, such as registration and financial aid.
  • Integrated Support: Pathways Navigators collaborate closely with faculty meta-major advisors, tutoring services, and student support teams to ensure students receive comprehensive and holistic support. They serve as a bridge, connecting students to more specialized resources and faculty advisors as needed.
  • Proactive Intervention: Using tools like early alerts and progress monitoring, Pathways Navigators proactively reach out to students who may be at risk of falling behind. They intervene early to address academic or personal challenges and direct students to relevant resources, such as Tutoring, Learning Specialist Workshops, and Cougar Care.
  • Personalized Advising: While Pathways Navigators provide broad-based guidance, they tailor their advising to each student’s unique needs, ensuring a personalized approach that reflects the student's goals, academic standing, and individual circumstances. The student Individualized Success Plan (ISP) is utilized so that each student receives the guidance they need during their academic journey at 黑料网.
