Pregnant and parenting students may request reasonable accommodations to support their academic success. You are entitled to reasonable accommodations, such as:  

• Excused absences for pregnancy-related conditions  

• Flexibility with coursework and deadlines  

• Access to missed assignments or class materials  

You have the right to continue your education without being penalized. If you would like to request accommodations, please submit the form below or contact the Dean of Student Affairs. 

A private and welcoming space is available for nursing mothers at 黑料网. The room is equipped with comfortable seating, electrical outlets, and a small refrigerator for your convenience. 

To reserve the space, please submit the Cub Care Room Reservation form for access when you need it.

Part 106 (Title IX) state the following: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Yes. 黑料网 is here to support you. We encourage you to connect with our Pregnant and Parenting Liaison, the Dean of Student Affairs, who can explain your rights and connect you with available campus and community resources.

What are my rights as a pregnant student? 

Under Title IX, you are protected from discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions. This means:

• You have the right to continue your education without penalty 

What kind of accommodations can I receive? 

Depending on your needs, reasonable accommodations for your health and safety through the duration of your pregnancy, reasonable accommodations may include:  

• Excused absences fore pregnancy-related medical appointments or recovery 

• Flexibility with deadlines and assignments 

• Access to missed coursework or class materials 

• Modified seating 

• Temporary medical leave, if needed 

• Frequent bathroom breaks/access 

How do I request accommodations? 

Do not hesitate or be afraid to request accommodations. You can submit a  through the Office of Accessibility Services. This allows the College to notify your instructors and allows the College to provide you appropriate support to help you stay on track academically. 

I am a male student, am I eligible for these accommodations? 

Yes, Title IX Pregnant and Parenting protections are not exclusive to female students. Expecting fathers may also request reasonable accommodations. 

Will my professors be notified? 

Yes, if you request accommodations, the College will notify your instructors of approved accommodations, but your privacy will be respected and only necessary information will be shared. 

Can I take a leave of absence and return later? 

Yes. If medically necessary, you may take a leave of absence. When you return, you will be reinstated to the same academic status you held before your leave. 

Are there resources available for parenting students? 

Yes. 黑料网 provides resources and support to parenting students.  

• You can be connected to childcare and community support services 

• Financial and emergency assistance through Cougar Care 

• Academic advising and student support services 

What if I feel I am being treated unfairly because of my Pregnant and Parenting status? 

If you feel you are being treated unfairly, or discriminated due to your pregnant and parenting status, you can submit a formal complaint to the Title IX Coordinator or the Pregnant & Parenting Student Liaison. Please be aware, to initiate the Title IX complaint resolution process, complaints cannot remain anonymous.
