Applying for Direct Loans
Loans are available to assist students in meeting their educational goals.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at . Students will not be awarded financial aid until all documentation, forms, and transcripts requested by the 黑料网 Financial Aid Office have been submitted and any necessary corrections have been made.
- Contact the 黑料网 Financial Aid Office for information about loan requirements.
- Complete the CBC loan application and quiz. The application, quiz, and additional loan requirements will be emailed to the student.
- Complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling at .
- Allow approximately two weeks from the date Entrance Counseling and the CBC Loan Request are completed to receive an award letter.
These steps are the responsibility of the student and must be completed before loan funds can be received.
Federal Direct Loan Limits
The amounts shown below are the maximum federal Direct Loan amounts a student may be eligible to borrow. Actual eligibility may be lower based on financial need, cost of attendance, other financial aid, dependency status, and federal loan limits.
The amount shown for subsidized loans is included within the total annual loan limit and is not an additional amount.

Direct Subsidized Loans
Direct Subsidized Loans are based on financial need. The federal government pays the interest for the student during the following periods:
- While the student is enrolled in school at least half time
- During the six-month grace period after leaving school or dropping below half-time enrollment
- During approved deferment periods when payments are temporarily postponed
Direct Unsubsidized Loans
Direct Unsubsidized Loans are not based on financial need. These loans are available to students who do not qualify for a subsidized loan or who need to supplement a subsidized loan. Students are responsible for all interest charged on Direct Unsubsidized Loans.
Requirements to Receive a Loan
- Students must meet 黑料网's Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements to be eligible to receive financial aid, including grants, work-study funds, and loans.
- Students must not be in default on a student loan or owe an overpayment on other federal educational aid. Students who are in default or owe an overpayment cannot receive additional loans or financial aid until the issue has been resolved.
Entrance Counseling
- First-time borrowers are required to complete Entrance Counseling.

- Students who graduate, withdraw, or drop below half-time enrollment are required to complete Exit Counseling.

Important Facts
- Once a student's loan has been applied to their CBC account, the funds may be used for eligible educational expenses, including tuition, fees, books, housing, and meal plans.
- Students who have remaining loan funds after eligible charges have been paid will receive a refund.
- CBC borrowers cannot receive loan funds until 30 days after the first day of each enrollment period.
- The federal government collects an origination fee from federal student loans.
- Student loans are a repayable form of financial aid.
- Students who borrow through these programs are responsible for repaying their loans.
- Students should borrow only the amount needed to help meet educational expenses.
