Program Overview
The 黑料网 LVN to ADN program is designed for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) seeking to advance their education and transition into professional registered nursing practice. The program builds upon prior vocational nursing education and clinical experience while preparing graduates for expanded roles in patient care, leadership, clinical judgment, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Nursing and will be eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
The program follows a concept-based curriculum model aligned with Texas Board of Nursing requirements and emphasizes:

Program Format
The proposed LVN to ADN program is designed to support working vocational nurses through a combination of:
- In-person lectures and labs
- Simulation experiences
- Clinical rotations in healthcare settings throughout the college district
Students should anticipate attending:
- In-person lectures and labs approximately 2 days per week
- Scheduled clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities
- Simulation and skills lab activities
Clinical schedules may vary depending on facility availability.
Program Information
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Current unencumbered Texas LVN license (or compact state license)
- Satisfactory TEAS exam score
- TSI complete for Reading and Writing
- Successful completion of prerequisite coursework with a grade of “C” or better
- Cleared criminal background check
- Completion of required immunizations
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
- Selection into the program through a competitive admission process
Admission is competitive and based on:
- Prerequisite GPA
- TEAS scores
- Completion of coursework
- Additional admission criteria identified during the application process
Proposed Application Process

- Schedule and complete the TEAS exam
- Submit the online nursing application once eligible
- Submit official college transcripts
- Await admission notification from the Selection Committee
- Accepted students will complete orientation and onboarding requirements

The proposed LVN to ADN program utilizes a concept-based curriculum model aligned with the Texas Nursing Concept-Based Curriculum Consortium (TxNCBCC). Students engage in repeated exposure to key nursing concepts across multiple patient populations and healthcare settings.

- Fluid and electrolytes
- Safety and quality improvement

- Professionalism and ethical practice
Students participate in supervised clinical experiences and simulation activities designed to support transition into professional nursing practice.

- Medical-surgical nursing
- Long-term care
- Maternal-child nursing
- Pediatric nursing
- Mental health nursing
- Critical care and emergency care experiences
The curriculum integrates all Texas Board of Nursing required content areas throughout didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical experiences.

The Nursing & Allied Health Division currently maintains an articulation agreement with:
- Del Mar College RN-to-BSN Program
This agreement is designed to promote smooth transfer of coursework and support continued educational advancement for graduates of the LVN to ADN program. The agreement allows eligible students to transition into the RN-to-BSN program without repeating successfully completed coursework.
Additional university partnerships and articulation agreements may be added as the nursing programs continue to expand.
