Program Description and Details
- Patient Care Technician – Patient Care Technicians (PCT) are crucial healthcare professionals who play a vital role in assisting nurses and other medical staff in providing care to patients. Students will learn to provide basic patient care - bathing, feeding, catheter care: acquire, distribute, and administer patient care supplies; perform safety checks and ensure cleanliness of patient rooms; accommodate the special needs of patients; obtain EKG reading and monitor vital signs; perform phlebotomy procedures; and provide emotional support.

Vocational Nursing – Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) care for patients in collaboration with a healthcare team (RN and Physicians) in a variety of settings. In the Vocational Nursing (VN) Program, students will learn to provide patient care – administering medications, providing treatments, assessing patient needs, and providing emotional support.

Professional Nursing – Registered Nurses (RNs) are essential healthcare professionals who provide compassionate care to patients in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and home settings. RNs assess patient health, develop care plans, administer treatments, educate patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. With a broad range of specialties, including pediatrics, emergency care, oncology, and more, registered nursing offers diverse career opportunities. A career as an RN provides the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care, while offering job stability and advancement potential in a growing healthcare field. This program is currently pending approval from the Texas Board of Nursing.
